PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) manages the national rail infrastructure — track, stations, and signalling — while multiple operators run passenger services across it. PKP Intercity handles long-distance express and intercity trains, while regional services are operated by a combination of state and regionally-owned carriers, including Polregio, Koleje Mazowieckie, Koleje Dolnośląskie, and others.
The network is concentrated in the south and west of the country, reflecting historical patterns of industrial development. Silesia, Małopolska, and Masovia have the densest rail coverage. Connectivity in the northeastern Podlaskie and Warmia-Masuria voivodeships is more limited.
Rail infrastructure data and timetables are published by PKP PLK S.A. and Rozkład jazdy PKP.
